Mia Turns 4!

It’s been exactly a week since Mia’s 4^th birthday! We can’t quite believe how fast this last year has gone and how much we have done since we were organising her 3^rd birthday party! This year as Mia turns 4, she asked for a Pirate party as she is really into pirates, cars and programmes like Paw Patrol and Blaze and the Monster Machines. Last year we said we would have an ‘organised’ party where we just turn up and don’t have to do too much as last year was a bit stressful so we found a Pirate Play Centre nearby and they said they could do everything for us! We also decided to book a face painter in as Mia absolutely loves her face being painted and we knew from other children’s parties that most of her friends do to!

As pretty much the whole party was taken care of, I decided to create Mia’s cake myself again and despite vowing never to do it again, I did! Mia isn’t really keen on cakes so I decided to make a cake decorated to look like the sea and then bake gingerbread pirate ships to sit on top, with masts and skull and cross bone flags!

For party bags, I had kept bits and pieces from last year and actually had enough for the all of the children coming. I also ordered some sweet cones from EBay to put in the children’s party bags so we were able to keep the costs right down.

Mia had a great time and so did her friends! She was so excited, they barely stopped playing for their lunch and we just about got them all to sit for the birthday cake! We definitely preferred the venue organising most of the party this year and I reckon next year, we will let them do the party bags and order a cake in too! A big ‘Thank you!’ to everyone that came and helped us celebrate Mia’s birthday with us and for all of her lovely presents too! With Mia starting school in September, this next year is going to be an extremely busy one and we can’t wait to see how our beautiful Mia Moo handles it all! Happy Birthday Mia!
