As most of you know, I have been trying to find the best ways of losing weight and keeping the weight loss up for the long-term. My quest for this answer has taken me down a slightly different route this time to the diet comparisons I have done previously and combines both what you eat and how you work out! Emily over at EM Fitness has put together a ‘12 week weight loss plan’ specifically designed for you to achieve results as well as arm you with everything you need to take you forward long-term.

The aim of the weight loss plan is that over the 12 weeks; you will eat a set food plan supplied by Emily, do 3-4 workouts a week, again set by Emily, and also complete various challenges that are personal to you. For example, mine is to up my steps from 7000 to 10,000 a day. Each plan is personal to you and is tailored towards your goals and current fitness levels.

Regular emails/calls with Emily throughout the 12 week’s, ensure that you are keeping to your plan and if you come across any issues then they can be worked out there and then. Results will vary as they are individual to you, so for example, it’s not unreasonable to expect at least 1 lb a week weight loss for me which would bring me almost to my goal weight loss of 1 stone in the 12 weeks. The whole idea of the plan is that it gives you the tools you need to carry on the weight loss yourself and that it is easy to fit into your everyday life, no matter how busy you are!

The food plan I have for the week looks great! There’s nothing on there that I’m worried about and I actually have most things in my cupboards and fridge already so that’s also good as I dislike food plans where you have to go out and buy loads of different things. The idea is that I will make the dinners for Mario too so that will be nice to still eat together. The workouts also look great and at only 20-30 minutes long, I should be able to fit them into my day although I’m worried about my personal challenge of 10,000 steps! I also like the fact everything is prepared and planned for me so I don’t have to do too much thinking about it all! Really helpful when you’re a busy mum!

I’m due to start the plan myself so I’m really looking forward to getting started. I will be posting about how I get on fortnightly as well as weighing-in and taking body measurements. So look out for those!

Would you consider a 12 week weight loss plan?

Yes the recommended amount is 10,000 steps a day but running around after a toddler still only gets me to 7000! I try not to mess with what I eat too much and just control my portion sizes which are massively over what they should be! 🙂
