I have never claimed to be great with my hair; in fact I have had the same, safe, style for the last 4 years. I absolutely love the length and colour however I never know what to do with it and when it’s not ‘poker’ straight, I pop it up in a high ponytail or a quick messy bun. I have my hair cut at really trendy hairdressers in town and pay a lot for it so when I go, I love my hairdresser to do something different and he knows just how I like it done, in loose curls! He keeps badgering me to try it myself and is always recommending styling wands as they are slightly easier to use to curl hair than straighteners are.
When the opportunity to review a curling wand came about, I knew it would be the kick up the bum I needed to start creating new hairstyles for myself. In order for me to give it a go, I need something that’s easy to use, quick to use and doesn’t take me ages to set up! I was sent the Xtava Twist Curling Wand and I was really eager to test it out!
I was very impressed when I received the Curling Wand, the box is really distinctive and the curling wand itself is housed in a lovely black box, complete with a storage travel pouch which makes it feel like a really high quality product. It’s ready to use straight from the box and even comes with a heat resistant glove so you can be sure not to burn your fingers! The tapered clipless curling wand has a 1 to 1 ½ inch tourmaline barrel which has a cool tip LCD display and automatically shuts itself off after 60 minutes.
The curling wand features ionic technology to prevent hair frizz and the long tapered barrel is coated in ceramic and tourmaline to preserve hair health. There are 22 temperature settings between 90-180°C so you can use whatever temperature is comfortable for you and the temperature control is digital so really easy to use and see while you are actually using the curling wand. The curling wand is ideal for creating voluminous beach waves or curls and can be used to style long or short hair.
I really like the Xtava Curling Wand and it will definitely be something I use when I’m going out on a night out or somewhere special. For someone who has never even tried to curl their hair before, on my first try out I could see a great difference in my hair! The curling wand is very easy to use and didn’t take me long to get the hang of using it at all! For £20, it’s more than worth the price and feels like a much higher quality product than this price reflects. I will keep practising more in the hope of getting even better but the lovely loose curls I can create already, are good enough for me!
