We have recently been trying out some meal prep boxes as a simpler way to eat good food without me needing to cook from scratch twice every evening. Last month we tried out Gousto which we really enjoyed but this month is the turn of Everdine.
Everdine is a meal subscription service based in London, for busy people with busy lives. They have created a unique set of clean eating recipes that can be cooked in less than 10 minutes in the microwave. They are very like ready meals without the huge calories and the added artificial preservatives. There is a choice of 8 or 12 meals with veggie options available which are delivered to your door each week frozen in recyclable packaging. They are delivered frozen as this locks in the natural goodness of the ingredients with no need for artificial preservatives.
We opted for the classic 8 meal box which with each meal serving 1 person meant that we both got 4 meals each. The meals themselves can be microwaved in around 10 minutes, some can be put in the oven however I found the meal I tried this way wasn’t as nice as the others cooked in the microwave as after all, they are designed for the microwave. The meals contain natural foods with clean eating recipes, sourced from high quality suppliers so you know you are getting the best ingredients out there.
There are lots of different meals to choose from and the range changes each week. In our box we got the following meals:

The Everdine boxes are perfect to take to work, with great portion sizes compared to traditional ‘ready’ meals and packaged in really good cardboard sleeves, they can be quickly popped into a work bag or make really quick, convenient dinners for professional couples with little time in the week to cook from scratch. The meals we tried were really tasty, they tasted like they had been cooked by us at home and the best thing is that unlike traditional ‘ready’ meals, each meal looked like proper food when it came out of the microwave! The packaging makes the meals look like a high quality, premium product and is far more convenient and healthier than other pre-prepared meals. The only thing we noticed is that they are fairly high in sugar which, if you are diabetic, would be an obvious problem. The classic 8 meal box we were sent by Everdine costs £55.20 however you can pause or cancel the subscription at any time which is useful. For a family it is pricey however for a working, professional couple it’s a great way to eat well and healthily without breaking the bank too much!
